

Engr. Rolando Querubin Patalinjug - "A descendant of both local and national Heroes, his innate trustworthy leadership qualities runs in the blood."
Rolando Querubin Patalinjug is the descendant of great local and national heroes. He is the son of Pedro Patalinjug, the brother of the late Hon. Maximo Veloso Patalinjug who served as mayor of Lapu-Lapu City for 23 years from 1967 to 1986 and from 1988 to 1991.
His mother, Venecia Querubin Patalinjug is the sister of Gen. Romulo Querubin -a trained jet pilot who made it to the famous Blue Diamonds the elite group of Philippine Air Force jet fighter pilots. General Querubin received 13 awards in his 30 years of military service including 2 bronze leaf awards and a silver star award. He was the PAF 560th wing commander at Mactan Air Base and later appointed as Regional Unified Commander of region 7. He attained the peak of his military career when he was appointed vice commanding general of the Phil Air Force.
Another noteworthy national heroes who share the same bloodline is Col. Ariel Querubin who is acclaimed as the most bemedalled officer in Philippine history, earning practically every award that the Armed Forces could give, except the Wounded Personnel Medal, which he could have received in 1989 had he been on the government side during the December coup attempt against the Aquino administration.
Rolando Querubin Patalinjug's abounding leaders lineage which originated from Northern part specifically Ilocos also attested of his innate leadership attributes. His Querubin ancestors include Gobernadorcillo Tomas Querubin who had prolific success in diverse fields such as shipping magnate (ship builder/owner), merchant, businessman, agriculturist, philanthropist, industrialist, farmer, a patriot and a two - term elected Gobernadorcillo of his beloved hometown. He was also a religious devout person; he also financially supported the revolutionary forces against Spaniards. Likewise, Tomas’ legacies were transferred from generation to generation. Among his children made their own footstep in their respective field were Don Dimas Querubin who inherited his father's political talent, subsequently became Capitan Municipal from 1897-1899, Founder of Caoayan, Ilocos Sur in 1911, elected first Presidente Municipal (Mayor) from 1911 - 1912, Don Apolinario Querubin, who inherited his father's bravery, became a Revolutionary Officer during Fil-Am War, first Filipino Provincial Assessor of Ilocos Sur, delegate to the First Philippines Independence Congress in 1930.
